The festivities, organized by the Hermandad Sacramental de Nuestra Señora de la Granada, officially began on Friday, August 28th, with the XXXVIII Pregón de las Glorias de María (Proclamation of the Glories of Mary), delivered by Luis Cristóbal Quiles Puntas and presented by his daughter Granada. The event, accompanied by the Banda de Música Ntra. Sra. de la Granada, included a floral and food offering.
Prior to this, on Thursday, August 27th, the I Charity Flamenco Fashion Parade was held at the Guillena bullring, with the collaboration of the Guillena City Council.
On August 29th and 30th, the traditional Besamanos (kissing of the hand) to the Patron Saint drew numerous faithful, facilitating access for the elderly, sick, and infirm.
The Novena in honor of the Virgin will take place until Monday, September 7th, held daily at 9:00 PM. During the Novena, on Friday, September 4th, the oath of new brotherhood members will occur.
On Saturday, September 5th, a mass for deceased members will be held, and on Monday, September 7th, at 7:00 AM, the Rosario de la Aurora (Rosary of the Dawn) will take place, followed by a Salutation to the Virgin at midnight.
On Tuesday, September 8th, the Patron Saint's day, the Virgen de la Granada will process through the streets of Guillena on two occasions. In the morning, after the Solemn High Mass at 9:00 AM, the procession will begin around 10:00 AM. In the evening, the procession will start at 9:30 PM.
On Wednesday, September 9th, a mass of thanksgiving will be celebrated at noon. The Guillena fair will conclude the festivities from September 8th to 13th.
