The Music Training Area of the Guillena City Council began the 2026-27 academic year yesterday, Tuesday, September 15th, at the ‘Francisco Javier Gutiérrez Juan’ Municipal Music School. Approximately 450 students have returned to classes to resume their musical studies.
The day started with the initial faculty meeting, marking the beginning of a new academic year full of enthusiasm and projects. In the afternoon, the music school opened its doors for the first classes and schedule arrangements, with the presence of the Councilor for Musical Training, Toñi Hernández.
The educational offering for this academic year includes 18 instrumental specialties, such as piano, clarinet, bassoon, flute, classical and flamenco guitar, oboe, percussion, saxophone, trombone, French horn, trumpet, tuba/baritone, violin, viola, cello, double bass, and singing.
Additionally, the school provides group subjects like music theory, chamber music, white voice choir, string orchestra, and band, as well as basic training for children aged 5 to 7.
Various specialized workshops are also maintained, including Flamenco Guitar, Flamenco Dance, Sevillanas, Castanets, Modern Singing, Drums, and Cornet. Programs for Music for Babies (24-36 months) and Musical Initiation (3 and 4 years) are also offered.
