Legendary singer Raphael opened up during his recent visit to 'El Hormiguero', sharing with Pablo Motos not only updates on his musical career but also lesser-known aspects of his personal life. The artist, originally from Linares, addressed current topics and reviewed key moments from his extensive career.
Regarding his health, Raphael spoke about his recovery after suffering a stroke in December 2024, which led to the detection of a brain lymphoma. The singer highlighted the speed at which events unfolded and praised the work of the healthcare professionals who treated him, calling them "wonderful".
On the professional front, the artist previewed the October premiere of the biographical series 'Aquel', in which he feels very reflected in the character. He also reviewed the upcoming dates for his current tour, ‘Raphaelísimo’, which will tour Spain before heading to Latin America in the fall.
“"The Hymn to Love, by Piaf, is the best song in the world"
In a moment of special confidence, Raphael confessed to Pablo Motos what he considers his favorite song: Edith Piaf's 'El himno al amor'. The artist even stated in Murcia, while performing it, that it is "the best song in the world". Despite his vast discography of 57 albums and a Platinum Record for selling 50 million copies, Raphael prefers "always the latest one, because I'm not tired of it."
The singer also shared a curious biographical detail related to his car collection: a cream-colored Cadillac Continental, visible at the Raphael Museum in Linares. Regarding vocal care, a fundamental pillar of his career, Raphael told Motos that the key lies in "not talking too much," indicating that he is more accustomed to singing than conversing.
