The Department of Tourism and Historical Heritage of the Linares City Council has finalized an initiative to optimize and equip the municipality's trail network with new signage. The primary objective of this action is to highlight and value two of the most significant cultural and landscape resources in the area: the Ibero-Roman archaeological site of Cástulo and its mining heritage legacy.
According to the delegate councilor for the area, Enrique Mendoza, the installation of these new informational and guiding elements allows for the creation of an approximately 16-kilometer itinerary. This route connects the Archaeological Ensemble of Cástulo with the unique mining landscape and the architectural vestiges of the Second Industrial Revolution. The path follows a symbolic trajectory that evokes the historical route of workers and miners from the Iberian and Roman eras towards the lead and silver mining operations.
