The Provincial Council of Jaén will carry out various interventions to adapt the JA-9106 road, connecting Génave and Torres de Albanchez, with a total investment exceeding 700,000 euros. Currently, emergency works worth 44,000 euros, funded by the Storm Shock Plan, are being finalized. These will be complemented by a comprehensive reform through the Provincial Road Infrastructure Plan, with a budget of approximately 650,000 euros.
As highlighted by the Deputy of Municipal Infrastructures, José Luis Agea, both actions aim to increase road safety and improve traffic conditions on this route, considered strategic for the agricultural sector and used daily by farmers and residents to access their properties.
The emergency works, nearing completion at kilometer five of the road, include the construction of a new retaining wall damaged by the adverse weather conditions of the past winter. The mayor of Génave, Jaime Aguilera, expressed his satisfaction, noting that the intervention benefits over a thousand people from both towns, as well as farmers and businesses in the area.
This investment is part of a broader plan by the Provincial Council of Jaén, which is allocating 60 million euros to improve the provincial road network. José Luis Agea emphasized that this commitment reaffirms the administration's dedication to quality road infrastructure, which is fundamental for municipal development and creating opportunities in rural areas.
