After several months of inactivity, the Cosmolarium in the fortress of the Sierra de Segura resumes its activities from the second half of July until the end of August. The program includes proposals such as olive oil tastings and conferences.
Among the highlighted events is a conference on August 15th by Teresa Chinchilla, an astrophysicist from NASA, alongside María José and Roberto, who will discuss 'The Importance of Stars'.
The astronomical calendar will also be featured with the Perseid meteor shower and eclipse observations. Scheduled activities include telescope observations focused on deep sky objects, the Moon, and a journey to the edges of the universe.
Six summer events with the night sky of the Sierra de Segura are planned: July 18th (deep sky), July 25th (Moon), August 1st (journey to the universe's confines), August 12th (eclipse, Perseids), August 15th (conference and pairing), and August 22nd (pairing and summer sky).
The visiting hours for the castle and the Cosmolarium during the summer are from Wednesday to Sunday, from 10:30 to 14:00 and from 18:00 to 20:30. General admission tickets range from 3 to 5 euros and can be purchased on the center's website.
Additionally, other proposals are offered in Hornos, such as the 'Ruta saleros' (Salt Route) through the old salt flats or routes along natural pools for a refreshing experience.
