Arroyo del Ojanco will transport its visitors to Ancient Rome from August 28-30 with the celebration of the 13th edition of its Cultural and Gastronomic Roman Days.

For three days, the Jaén locality will become a period stage, offering a diverse program focused on history, education, gastronomy, and shows for all ages.
The official inauguration will take place on Friday, August 28, followed by an imperial parade by the Cristo de la Columna Trumpet and Drum Association and the Romans of Beas de Segura. The day will include a series of lectures on olive oil production in Roman Baetica and the LIFE Olivares Vivos project, concluding with a tasting of Mulsum wine and a guided tour of the interpretation center.

A journey to the past, a party in the present

On Saturday, August 29, the Roman market will open its doors, one of the main attractions. The program will continue with children's puppet workshops, bird of prey exhibitions, and theater for children. The company Animahist will present children's shows, and the day will conclude with the play ‘Roma Alterna’ by La Irremediable Compañía de Linares.
On Sunday, August 30, family activities and bird of prey exhibitions will lead to a tasting of Roman-style roasted pork for five euros. The highlight will be the anticipated gladiator combat, performed by the historical reenactment group Ludus Salaria de Úbeda, which will close the event with a final parade.
These free-entry days transform Arroyo del Ojanco into a historical setting each summer, offering attendees and locals an authentic journey into the past.
