Renovation works on Calle Miró in La Cala del Moral are underway, featuring an integral action aimed at improving accessibility, renewing urban infrastructure, and modernizing public services. The investment surpasses 200,000 euros and extends to the refurbishment of the surrounding area, including Manuel Barrón and Salvador Dalí streets.
According to the Councilor for Public Works and General Services, Sergio Díaz, the project is structured in different sections. On Calle Miró, between Avenida de Pablo Ruiz Picasso and the intersection with Calle Manuel Barrón (section 1), the southern sidewalk is being replaced and widened, the roadway is being conditioned, and new road signage adapted to the planned redevelopment is being installed. Additionally, a new underground telecommunications duct is being laid to enable the burial of the network.
In the second section of Calle Miró, between Calle Manuel Barrón and the dead end, punctual repairs to sidewalks and curbs will be carried out, the northern sidewalk will be raised, and the tree pits and roadway will be conditioned. Furthermore, the public lighting network will be renewed and expanded with new LED models and additional luminaires in sections currently lacking this service.
The project also includes the refurbishment of the immediate surroundings. On Calle Manuel Barrón, sidewalks and curbs will be repaired, deteriorated tiles will be repositioned or replaced, and the roadway will be conditioned through milling and repaving affected areas. Public lighting will also be renewed with new columns and luminaires. On Calle Salvador Dalí, the roadway will be milled and subsequently repaved with a new bituminous asphalt layer.
The new lighting system planned for Calle Miró and Calle Manuel Barrón will feature a total of 24 LED luminaires, enhancing energy efficiency and lighting quality. A new underground telecommunications network will also be installed, replacing the existing overhead line.
The contracting company, Copesol S.L., is executing the works with a budget of 198,619.88 euros plus VAT, and an estimated execution period of eight weeks.
