The territorial delegate for Tourism, José Ayala, held a working meeting with the mayor of Cazorla, José Luis Olivares, and representatives of the Unit of the National Police Adscribed to the Autonomous Community of Andalusia (UPA). The aim is to coordinate actions for the inspection of tourist housing in the municipality.
The 'Grupo Titán' (Traceability and Tourist Inspection of Andalusia), launched by the regional government in October 2025, seeks to enhance legal security, quality, and sustainability in Andalusia's tourism sector. According to Ayala, "inspection and control actions, as well as forms of collaboration" are being analyzed to ensure regulatory compliance and promote fair competition.
The territorial delegate highlighted the Andalusian Government's commitment to tourism as "an important economic engine for the province of Jaén," always linked to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. The initiative also aims to improve the well-being of residents by ensuring coexistence with visitor influx.
The 'Grupo Titán' is intensifying its efforts against illegal activities by inspecting tourist services to detect unregistered accommodations and regulatory breaches. It will also enhance online surveillance to locate clandestine offers and potential digital fraud, thereby combating the underground economy.
Police coordination with the National Police and the Civil Guard is crucial, ensuring mandatory user registration in tourist accommodations and using data cross-referencing to prevent criminal misuse. The project aligns with the European Tourism Agenda 2030, promoting a resilient and sustainable model, including responsible use of natural resources like water and environmental impact control.
