The work focuses on constructing pile screens to ensure the stability of the terrain, damaged by saturation from a series of storms. This action is crucial for the complete restoration of the road, which connects Algodonales with Ronda and is a strategic transport axis for mobility in Andalusia.
The Consejería de Fomento y Movilidad detailed that the total investment for the repair of this road amounts to ten million euros. A significant portion, almost half, is allocated to kilometer point 0+300, where the landslide originated, affecting the roadway and embankment.
Minister Mario Muñoz-Atanet, accompanied by territorial delegate Carmen Sánchez, highlighted the importance of the A-374 as "an important road axis structuring mobility in Andalusia" and "the natural exit from Ronda towards Seville." An alternative route was established to maintain communications during the works.
The intervention, carried out by the company Rialsa, includes the construction of two pile walls, 1.2 meters in diameter and 25 meters long, anchored to ensure stability. Additionally, riprap walls will be built, and drainage will be improved with ditches and trenches.
The A-374 road spans 33.79 kilometers. The section between Algodonales and the border of the province of Cádiz registers an average daily traffic of 3,199 vehicles, with approximately 3% being heavy vehicles.
This project is part of the Plan Andalucía Actúa, which allocates 279 million euros for emergency works on the regional road network, with 107 million euros designated for the province of Cádiz.
