The Tagarnina Fest celebrates its second edition in Algodonales from August 20-22, offering contemporary flamenco and Spanish dance in unique natural settings.

The town of Algodonales, in the Sierra de Cádiz, will host the second edition of the Tagarnina Fest, an event dedicated to contemporary flamenco dance, taking place from August 20 to 22. The initiative is supported by the Provincial Council of Cádiz, the Regional Government of Andalusia, and the Algodonales City Council.
The Deputy of Culture, Vanesa Beltrán, highlighted the festival's value in "highlighting our roots" and its positive impact on the local economy and tourism. She noted that the event already holds significant prestige, attracting interest from high-level companies.
The mayor of Algodonales, Ángel Acuña, invited the public to enjoy a "different festival," emphasizing the uniqueness of its natural venues.
As a new feature, the festival is expanding its offerings to include Spanish dance, presented by Daniel Doña Compañía (DDCdanza). The organization emphasizes the prominence of provincial talent, with 5 invited companies featuring a total of 10 artists from Cádiz, including figures such as Mari Ángeles Gabaldón, Rafael Campallo, José Anillo, Manuel Gago, Antonia Jiménez, Naike Ponce, Ana Almagro, and María Moreno.
In addition to the performances, the Tagarnina Fest offers visitors the chance to enjoy the local landscape, architecture, and gastronomy. Stands selling local crafts will also be set up.
The program includes a family master class on Thursday, August 20, at 9:30 PM in the Plaza de la Constitución, followed by the flamenco gala ‘De Tablao’ at 11:00 PM, featuring several artists.
On Friday, August 21, the Conjunto Monumental Fuente Alta will host ‘Retrospectiva 2.0’ by Daniel Doña Compañía at 10:00 PM, and at 11:00 PM, ‘Mujeres de Bandera’ with Antonia Jiménez, Naike Ponce, and Ana Almagro.
On Saturday, August 22, the Pórtico del Ayuntamiento will present the show ‘Recreo’, by María Moreno Cía, at 10:30 PM.
The festival's director, Francisco Hidalgo, explained that this year's poster, designed by Macarena Olivera, features Hidalgo himself as the host.
