The digital sports newspaper Palabra de Fútbol is celebrating its twentieth anniversary by organizing training sessions focused on the role of the goalkeeper. These events will take place in various municipalities within the province of Jaén from today until June 5th, with the support of the Provincial Council of Jaén.
The initiative was presented by the Deputy of Culture and Sports, África Colomo, alongside the director of Palabra de Fútbol, Antonio Oliver, and professional ex-goalkeeper Pedro Jaro, who will conduct the technical sessions. The events will kick off today in Torreperogil, followed by Mengíbar this Friday, May 22nd, continuing in Arjona on May 28th, and concluding on June 5th in Beas de Segura.
África Colomo congratulated Palabra de Fútbol on its career and emphasized the value of having Pedro Jaro, who is recognized both as a goalkeeper and a goalkeeping coach.
Antonio Oliver explained that each event will feature an initial discussion open to the local public to foster debate around the specific and crucial position of the goalkeeper. This will be followed by a practical session for four selected goalkeepers from the local club or sports school, offering them the chance to learn from Pedro Jaro's expertise. The activity aims to highlight the importance of the goalkeeper and bring the experience of a professional player to the province's young talents.
