Albacete Balompié has announced the signing of José Corpas as their first reinforcement for the 2026-2027 campaign. The winger, originally from Baños de la Encina, has signed a two-year deal with the club from Albacete, concluding his five-year tenure with SD Eibar.
Corpas, who came through the youth ranks of CD Linares and Linares Deportivo, made the leap to professional football after excelling at Marbella FC during the 2017-2018 season, where he scored nine goals in 40 matches in Segunda B. His performance caught the eye of UD Almería, who signed him in the summer of 2018.
During his three seasons with the Almería club, Corpas played 125 games and scored 19 goals. In the 2021-22 campaign, he joined SD Eibar, where he became a key figure for five years. In total, he has played 207 matches for the Basque team, scoring 24 goals. In his last season, he featured in 40 games, netting eight times and providing six assists.
At nearly 35 years old, the player has accumulated 332 appearances in the Second Division and remains in excellent form, having been the outfield player with the most minutes at Ipurua in the 2025-2026 season. After concluding his time with the Eibar club, Corpas joins Albacete Balompié, where he will reunite with defender Pepe Sánchez and play under coach Alberto González.
