The investiture ceremony, which was to be the first coalition government between PP and Vox, has been postponed. Following the swearing-in, the new Executive was set to begin drafting the community's Budget Law project for 2027. Sources from the Andalusian Government will announce the new date for the ceremony.
The magnitude of the fire in Los Gallardos has also prompted institutional representatives in Granada to cancel all their scheduled events for this Friday. Among the suspended activities were the visit of the Government delegate in Andalusia, Pedro Fernández, to the Arab baths of Cogollos Vega, a press conference by socialist Paco Cuenca, and the inauguration of a retrospective exhibition of the artist José Hernández Quero.
“"Given the tragic consequences of the Los Gallardos fire, the swearing-in ceremony of the councillors scheduled for this morning is postponed."
The mayor of Granada, Marifrán Carazo, expressed her "condolences to the families of those who died" in the fire and her "affection for the affected municipalities", offering Granada's support. Meanwhile, Pedro Fernández stated he was "devastated by the tragedy" and sent his support to the victims' families, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured, and urged "maximum prudence".
