The eagerly awaited Sunday Market in Jerez de la Frontera reopens its doors this coming weekend, specifically on Sunday, May 31st. This return follows a closure of four consecutive Sundays, during which the setup, celebration, and dismantling of the Horse Fair took place at González Hontoria Park.
The traditional market, held on the 'esplanada de los cacharritos', resumes its activity after a prolonged absence of almost a month. The dates it was not organized were May 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th.
However, attendees should prepare for the high temperatures forecast. An intensely hot weekend is expected, with maximums potentially reaching 37 degrees Celsius. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated high heat warnings in other Andalusian provinces such as Seville and Córdoba, where the predicted maximum temperatures are 38 and 37 degrees, respectively.
Generally, skies in Andalusia will be mostly clear with little cloud cover, and temperatures will rise overall, except for the minimums on the Atlantic coast. The highest maximum temperature will be recorded in Seville (38 degrees), followed by Córdoba (37), Jaén (36), and Granada and Jerez (35).
Other Andalusian capitals will register maximums of 30 degrees in Huelva, 29 in Málaga, 28 in Almería, and 25 in Cádiz. Winds will be light and variable, except in the Strait area, where they will be moderate easterly.
