The BioDomo at Granada's Science Park celebrates its tenth anniversary, having welcomed over 1.8 million visitors since its opening, solidifying its role as a bridge between society and nature.
The BioDomo at the Parque de las Ciencias in Granada marks its tenth anniversary, having welcomed over 1,800,000 visitors since its opening on July 25, 2026. To celebrate this decade, the museum has designed a special program featuring two temporary exhibitions and the remodeling of the 'Amazonia' space.
The temporary exhibitions, to be unveiled in the last quarter of the year, include 'The BioDomo as a Resource and Inspiration,' in collaboration with the University of Granada, focusing on scientific illustration as a link between science and art; and 'Caring for Biodiversity,' which will detail conservation projects in Madagascar and cooperation with the Agua de Coco Foundation and the NGO Bel Avenir.
The renovation of the 'Amazonia' area will take place in September, aiming to enhance animal welfare and the visitor experience. During this period, public access to the BioDomo will be suspended.
Furthermore, a new conservation project for native reptile habitats and species will be launched in partnership with the Herpetological Association of Granada and the Environmental Department of the Junta de Andalucía. The Science Park will contribute a captive breeding zone and an exhibition area.
“
"The Science Park would participate by establishing a captive breeding area and an exhibition space for public observation, along with a communication and outreach program for citizens."
The collaboration agreement with the Agua de Coco Foundation has been renewed to continue environmental education and conservation programs in Madagascar.

"No one who looks a tiger in the eye, comes face-to-face with a gorilla, watches a bull shark swim, or spies the slow movement of a sloth in the jungle returns the same. That is the magic of the real world; its strength and power. That is the role, the main mission that zoos and aquariums have in society. But to succeed in their mission, parks also have obligations: they must be rigorous in their recreations, but above all, they must care for animal welfare. This requires combining scientific knowledge and the vital requirements of each species with the beauty of their surroundings."
“
"Collaborating also means building bridges between territories, bringing realities closer, and demonstrating that education, science, and international cooperation can generate a positive and transformative impact."
“
"Volunteers make a valuable contribution to our institutions; often silent, which deserves recognition. The visit transforms into intentions and even concrete actions that people can carry out in their own sphere: neighborhood, school, or family. Thus, we see BioDomo become a place where environmental concern translates into knowledge and commitment."
