The initiative, which took place from March to August, offered nearly a hundred actions, including 90 activities such as workshops, astronomical observations, escape rooms, mobile planetariums, and talks. The astronomical observations were notable for covering eclipses and providing safety guidelines. Seven exhibitions were also featured, including 'Paseo Matemático Al-Ándalus', 'From Earth to the Universe', and 'The Bonds of Life'.
A total of 90 science communicators and researchers, along with Andalusian entities registered in the national Scientific Tourism catalog, made these proposals possible. The program was divided into two phases: 'Ciencia al Fresquito spring' (March-May) and 'Ciencia al Fresquito summer' (June-August). This edition saw the incorporation of new municipalities, achieving a scientific presence in all Andalusian provinces, with special attention to areas or groups with limited access to these outreach activities.
Although participation was open, priority was given to applications from municipalities with fewer than 50,000 inhabitants, vulnerable neighborhoods, social entities, groups with special needs, and correctional facilities. Nearly a third of the activities were conducted with entities supporting social exclusion risk groups, such as Cruz Roja Sevilla, ASIDEM Isla Cristina, and Asansull Algeciras, among others.
Since its inception in 2019, 'Ciencia al Fresquito' has aimed to bring scientific culture to all corners of Andalusia. Across its five editions, 297 activities have been held, with a cumulative participation of 142,120 people, supported by Fundación ”la Caixa” and the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).
