The Cádiz municipality of Castellar de la Frontera is in the final countdown to host one of the most anticipated summer events: the 2026 Night of the Candles. From next Friday, July 10th to Sunday, July 12th, Plaza Andalucía will be transformed into a dreamlike stage, illuminated by thousands of candles and featuring a diverse program of activities for the whole family.
The highlight of the celebration will be on Saturday, July 11th, when approximately 10,000 candles are lit to create a spectacular scene in the Campo de Gibraltar region. The night will be enhanced with performances, fire art, and a concert by Estopaos, a group recognized as one of the best tributes to the duo Estopa nationally.
The program will kick off on Friday, July 10th, with the opening of the Medieval Market, offering craft stalls, gastronomy, and historical ambiance throughout the weekend. Starting at 10:00 PM, children can enjoy numerous workshops, including medieval combat, explosive painting, and glitter crafts, in a day designed for family participation.
The night of Saturday, July 11th, begins at 9:30 PM with the gradual lighting of candles in Plaza Andalucía, accompanied by fire shows and artistic performances. At 12:00 AM, the group Estopaos will perform the greatest hits of Estopa. The festivities will continue into the early morning with a set by DJ Kfú and more shows.
The City Council has emphasized the crucial role of volunteer collaboration in making the event possible and has encouraged both residents and visitors to partake in this occasion, which attracts hundreds of people annually. The combination of candles, live music, fire shows, and the medieval market solidifies Castellar as a prime summer destination in Cádiz.
