The mayor of Ronda, Mari Paz Fernández, has presented the poster for the Real Feria of the San Francisco neighborhood. The event, organized in collaboration with the neighborhood's Residents' Association and the Royal Brotherhood of the Holy Burial, will be held from October 2nd to 4th in honor of San Francisco de Asís.
This year, the fair takes on a special character as it coincides with the Franciscan Jubilee Year, commemorating the 800th anniversary of the death of San Francisco de Asís. The poster, created by the Official Chronicler of Ronda, Faustino Peralta, highlights the special devotion to the saint in this neighborhood.
Due to the comprehensive renovation of the Ruedo Alameda, the fair will take place in this area. The program, prepared jointly by the Residents' Association, the Holy Burial, and the City Council, will begin on Sunday with various tournaments.
On Friday, October 2nd, the lighting and the El Atrio Booth will be inaugurated, the Queen and Mister 2026 will be named, and the Orquesta Virtual will close the day. Saturday, October 3rd, will feature the traditional Day of Coexistence, with a popular paella and performances by the groups Banda de Los Leones and Malahora. In the evening, trophies will be awarded, and the Distinguished Neighbor will be honored.
On Sunday, October 4th, the feast day of San Francisco de Asís, there will be a lunch for seniors and a performance by Guateque Entreamigos. At 6:30 PM, the mass in honor of the saint will be held at the Church of the Holy Spirit, followed by the Patron Saint's procession through the neighborhood streets.
