The Provincial Council of Malaga has approved financial aid for the Genalguacil Town Hall to adapt a plot of land that will accommodate two new parking zones. This initiative aims to alleviate the shortage of parking spaces in the municipality, a problem affecting both residents and visitors.
Francisco Salado, President of the Provincial Council of Malaga, emphasized the institution's support for municipalities, particularly smaller ones, in resolving issues like parking scarcity. The funds will be transferred to the local council for them to tender the necessary works.
The project will be carried out in the Las Cruces area, on the outskirts of the town. This location hosts important facilities such as the municipal sports center, the swimming pool, dining establishments, and the starting point for hiking trails. The lack of parking during peak times causes road safety issues and hinders traffic flow.
The plan involves replacing and stabilizing deteriorated retaining walls. A total of 15 parking spaces will be created, including areas adapted for people with reduced mobility and charging points for electric vehicles. Additionally, the existing facility network will be improved, and lighting will be installed in the parking zones.
“"Once again, from the Provincial Council, we demonstrate that we are an institution that supports municipalities, especially the smaller ones, in this case to alleviate or improve the problem of parking shortages that many towns suffer from."
