The mayor of Vícar, Antonio Bonilla, has welcomed Gracia, Arturo, and Alberto, the three new Local Police officers who are now part of the municipal force. This incorporation brings the number of officers to 31, fulfilling the Municipal Government's objective of working on a "culture of security," as highlighted by Bonilla. This increase in police personnel aims to enhance citizen safety.
Currently, a selection process is underway to incorporate another three officers, and this year's Public Employment Offer includes four more positions, which would bring the total force to 38 officers.
The meeting took place in the Mayor's office and was attended by the Head of the Local Police of Vícar, Tomás Zamora; the councilor for Personnel and Citizen Security, Evaristo López; the Deputy Mayor, Luz María Fernández; and the councilor for the Presidency, Vanesa Lidueña.
During the welcome ceremony, the mayor wished the officers good luck in their upcoming training phase and emphasized the responsibility of the role. "From now on, you are part of this administration, and as such, you are expected to correctly fulfill your duties in service to the municipality, always in accordance with the law, with the permanent objective of protecting citizens," he stated.
After successfully passing the competitive examinations, the three new officers completed their theoretical training at the Institute of Emergencies and Public Security of Andalusia (IESPA Sevilla). They are now actively integrated into the daily life of the force in Vícar. They are scheduled to officially take up their positions next November, after successfully completing all stages.
