Euripides' play, which narrates the suffering of the Trojan women after the fall of their city, was staged at the Roquetas de Mar Auditorium Theatre. The young cast's performance was highly praised, demonstrating a great ability to convey despair and resilience in the face of adversity.
The production, with dramaturgy by María Gallardo, featured musical direction by María del Mar Ibáñez, technical direction by Serafín Ponte, set design by Francisco Sánchez, and lighting by José Ignacio Abad.
The tragedy is set in the Greek camp, where the captured Trojan women, led by their queen Hecuba, lament their fate while awaiting a draw that will determine their destiny as slaves to the Greek victors.
The performance highlighted the search for meaning amidst inevitable pain and the women's resistance against a hostile world, giving voice to their laments and doubts.
The production benefited from the special collaboration of the Youth String Orchestra of the Roquetas de Mar Municipal School of Music, Dance, and Theatre, as well as Filo Rodríguez (Costume Designer) and Abal Pons (Graphic Design). Redes Teatro was responsible for the co-production.
