The city of Málaga has presented its potential to attract foreign investment to more than seventy Chinese companies during a commercial mission in Yantai and Beijing.

The initiative, organized by the Málaga City Council, primarily aimed to highlight the opportunities the province offers for the establishment of Asian companies in strategic sectors such as technology, renewable energy, and automotive. Furthermore, it sought to strengthen the opening of the Chinese market to Andalusian products, establishing stable entry channels for the region's companies.
The agenda began in Yantai, where the competitive advantages of Málaga and its economic model were detailed. Local authorities were invited to visit the Andalusian capital to gain firsthand insight into its business and technological ecosystem.

"We hope this mission will boost the arrival of companies and factories from the Asian country into strategic sectors."

Several collaboration agreements were signed during the visit. One was between the University of Málaga and the Shandong Hospitality and Tourism School to foster academic exchange. Another agreement was reached with the Shanzhan Market to facilitate the introduction of Andalusian products into the Chinese market, and a third convention with the Shandong Cross-border Trade Association to promote e-commerce and improve logistical connections.
The Málaga delegation also held an institutional meeting with the deputy mayor of Yantai, Sui Zilin, to present Málaga's development model and the city's conditions for hosting international investment.
The second phase of the mission took place in Beijing with the Andalusia-China Commercial Cooperation Forum, attended by over a hundred representatives from institutions, business associations, and universities. Visits were also made to companies in the technology, renewable energy, and automotive sectors, such as Hongxin Biolsy (stem cell research) and Goldwind (renewable energy), to explore future industrial collaborations.
