La Térmica, the cultural center dependent on the Diputación de Málaga, has announced its schedule for the first week of June, featuring three main events: a contemporary art exhibition, a live music series, and family-friendly activities. The program is further enriched with training opportunities, workshops, and activities related to technology and design.
The week kicks off on Thursday, June 4th, with the inauguration of the exhibition ‘Murmuración’ by American artist Ryan Schneider. The show, a result of a two-month artistic residency at La Térmica and curated by Mármol&Fa, presents works created in Málaga that explore natural materials, spirituality, and the landscapes of the Mojave Desert. The pieces, made from wood, stone, bronze, and gold, blend influences from European modernism and mythology. The exhibition will be on display in Sala 017 until September 13th.
On Friday, June 5th, a new edition of RED Friday, La Térmica's multidisciplinary cycle, takes place. From 6:00 PM to midnight, the event will feature concerts, DJ sets, and performances. The musical lineup is headlined by Pablopablo, supported by Curro, Kokoshca, and Rachid B, along with DJ sets from Carol DJ, Miguel Payda, and Miqui Brightside. The evening will also include performances such as ‘A tempo do furia’ by Manu Egozkue and Javiera Paz, and ‘No se puede odiar a una madre’ by María Luisa Tomás and Mirian Jordam. Collaborators include Málaga de Moda and Cervezas Victoria. Tickets will be available online on Wednesday, June 3rd, and in person on Thursday, June 4th.
Saturday, June 6th, hosts the second edition of Ancá La Térmica, a free event focused on intergenerational coexistence. The center's gardens and courtyards will be transformed into a playful and cultural space with traditional games, creative workshops, music, performances, and food trucks. Performers will include María Rodés, Mucha Movida, and NUNO, alongside the circus show ‘Koroko’ and the Gestural Karaoke led by Alejandro Morales. The event will run from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Tickets will be available online on Monday, June 1st, and in person on Tuesday, June 2nd.
The weekly schedule also includes training activities and workshops. On June 2nd and 4th, ‘Baile swing’ classes organized by Málaga Swing will be held. On June 3rd, Elena Nuez (Bicocacolors) will lead the course ‘Arte + Diseño de Pintura Decorativa’. On June 4th, the ‘Taller de collage creativo’ (Creative Collage Workshop) will take place. In the technology sector, La Térmica Mini, in collaboration with EducaGamer, will present ‘Animación, arte y diseño gráfico para manga, anime y videojuegos’ on June 5th, and ‘Programación de videojuegos con Roblox y Unity’ on June 6th. Also on Saturday, June 6th, the Máster Robótica Educativa Galilei Kids will offer technological learning for children and youth.
