During a visit to Velez-Malaga, the party denounced that the Malaga coast has become a route of impunity for vessels involved in drug trafficking. According to the data presented, there is an accumulated deficit of 700 police officers and 550 civil guards in the province of Malaga, a shortage that, according to the party, hinders the work of the State Security Forces and Corps in the face of evolving criminal activity.
The party highlighted a significant increase in crime rates in municipalities such as Velez-Malaga, where violent robberies have more than doubled since 2021. Given this situation, they have demanded that the Andalusian coast be declared a Zone of Special Singularity and that a comprehensive plan to fight organized crime be implemented, including the restoration of specialized units.
The party criticized that, out of the 61 Civil Guard barracks in the province, only eight remain operational 24 hours a day. Consequently, they announced that they will present an initiative in the Congress of Deputies next week to demand an urgent appearance by the Secretary of State for Security and to call for greater protection for officers.
