The Homicide Unit of Malaga has solved the crime, which took place on Concejal Pedro Ruiz García street, in the vicinity of La Palmilla. The victim, 29, received a deep chest wound affecting his lung, dying hours later in the hospital despite medical assistance.
The investigation determined that the alleged perpetrator, 27, knew the victim, and they had a connection related to a property rental. After the assault, the suspect fled and remained hidden for weeks, allegedly with the help of family members.
The National Police deployed a large search and surveillance operation to locate the fugitive. He was finally arrested in Malaga and, after being brought before the judicial authority, was ordered into preventive custody.
The main difficulty of the case was not identifying the suspect, but locating him.
With this arrest, the National Police considers the murder solved, an incident that shocked the northern area of Malaga and whose investigation has been closed in less than a month.
