The action, part of the operation named Legitimate Transport, focused on vehicles operating without the required VTC licenses or administrative authorizations. Controls were intensified at key locations such as Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport, the city center, and the western area.
During the investigation, coordinated by the Investigation and Protection Group (GIP), nearly 3,000 checks were carried out. This led to 36 vehicles being reported and impounded for lacking proper authorization. Irregularities were also found in a taxi from another municipality, and a vehicle was immobilized for not having mandatory insurance.
In addition to administrative complaints, three cases of document forgery were opened, leading to the arrest of two people. Administrative infractions included driving with expired permits, changing vehicle use, and not displaying license plates correctly, totaling 71 complaints.
The operation also uncovered anomalies in driver hiring at four of the 25 companies investigated, information that was reported to the Labor and Social Security Inspectorate. The first phase of the operation concluded at the end of April, showing a decrease in illegal activity, although surveillance will continue.
