The image of María Auxiliadora will parade through the streets surrounding its Sanctuary this Sunday, a special date for the Salesian family. This event commemorates the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Salesian house in Córdoba, a milestone celebrated with various events since December 1, 2025.
The commemorative activities have included a novena in honor of the Salesian titular, Masses presided over by former directors, the presentation of children, the lowering of the Virgin from her shrine, an exaltation by Salvador Fuentes, president of the Provincial Council of Córdoba, and a 'besamanos' (hand-kissing).
This Sunday, the main day, Masses will be held at 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM in the Sanctuary. In the afternoon, at 7:30 PM, María Auxiliadora and San Juan Bosco will be transferred to the courtyard of the San Francisco de Sales school for a welcome ceremony.
Following the Eucharist, again presided over by the Bishop of Córdoba, Jesús Fernández, the procession will commence. The procession will include the image of Santo Domingo Savio. The float of San Juan Bosco will be guided by David Martínez Leal with the Caído y Fuensanta Band of Cornets and Drums, while the Esperanza Band will accompany María Auxiliadora, with Jesús Ortigosa Brun as the foreman.
This year's route has been modified to pass through the main streets adjacent to the San Francisco de Sales school. After the procession, a blessing will take place inside the Sanctuary of María Auxiliadora, concluding the day's events.
The detailed itinerary will begin after 9:00 PM from within the San Francisco de Sales school, proceeding through Santo Domingo Savio, María Auxiliadora, Plaza de San Lorenzo, Arroyo de San Lorenzo, Golondrina, Julio Valdelomar, Antón de Montoro, Ronda de la Manca, San Francisco de Sales, Santo Domingo Savio, María Auxiliadora, before finally entering its Sanctuary in the early hours of Monday.
