The Pozoblanco City Council has resolved and disbursed the call for the 'Plan Alquila Joven' (Young Rent Plan), a municipal aid program designed to facilitate access to rental housing for young people aged between 18 and 35. In this edition, the program has benefited nine young individuals, with a municipal investment exceeding 10,000 euros.
The primary objective of this measure is to support youth emancipation, alleviate the economic burden of rent payments, and encourage young people to develop their life projects in Pozoblanco. The subsidies cover up to 50% of the monthly rent, with a maximum limit of 150 euros per month, providing direct support to those renting within the municipality.
The mayor of Pozoblanco, Santiago Cabello, highlighted the usefulness and necessity of the 'Plan Alquila Joven' as a tool to support young people at the crucial stage of starting their independence. Cabello stated that "facilitating access to housing is also working for the future of Pozoblanco, because every young person who can stay here, live here, and build their personal and professional project here contributes to the development of our city".
The mayor emphasized the City Council's commitment to youth through concrete measures, not just words. He added that "continuing to promote policies on housing, employment, training, leisure, and youth participation is fundamental to retaining population and generating real opportunities in Pozoblanco".
For her part, the Councilor for Social Services, María Fernández, positively valued the resolution of the call, noting that the aid received by the nine young people represents significant support for covering rent and advancing their emancipation. She explained that the plan is designed to accompany youth in this key stage, reducing the economic burden of independent living.
Fernández recalled that the program has been running continuously since 2017, having assisted numerous young people and establishing itself as a stable measure. She also highlighted the information and support provided by the Punto Joven (Youth Point) to facilitate the application process for applicants.
