The future pool, to be located on the grounds of the former football field, will be a single-story building. It will include a main pavilion for the swimming area and an adjacent section for administrative offices and changing rooms. The construction also features a basement level for technical facilities and perimeter galleries.
The project, carried out by the Provincial Council of Granada as part of the Provincial Plan for Investments in Sports Facilities (PIDE), has a budget of 1,406,999.99 euros. The goal is to provide the region with a modern infrastructure that promotes year-round sports activities and healthy lifestyles.
The president of the Provincial Council, Francis Rodríguez, accompanied by the mayor of Torre-Cardela, María Vera, and other deputies, emphasized that the project fulfills the objective of ensuring equal opportunities and services for all provincial residents. He noted that this pioneering pool will allow residents of the region to avoid traveling to other towns for similar facilities.
Mayor María Vera described the day as "very important" for the town and the region, thanking the Provincial Council for its commitment to smaller municipalities and highlighting that this initiative demonstrates that "dreams come true with work, effort, and enthusiasm" and an "allied institution."
