This new vehicle, 100% financed by the Provincial Council of Granada with a grant of 36,179 euros, is essential for a municipality with fewer than 600 inhabitants. The second vice-president and delegate for Presidency, María Vera, visited the town and met with the mayor, Miguel Sánchez, to understand local needs.
Delegate María Vera emphasized the importance of supporting small municipalities to ensure equal services across the province. "Having adequate resources for daily maintenance is a fundamental tool for residents to have quality public services, regardless of where they live," she stated.
Mayor Miguel Sánchez thanked the Provincial Council of Granada and delegate María Vera for their commitment, noting that the vehicle is "fundamental support" that will enable maintenance work, small construction projects, and daily incident response, thereby improving service delivery to residents.
The new vehicle replaces the sole previous municipal unit, which was over 20 years old and suffered an irreparable breakdown. The lack of an operational vehicle had hindered essential tasks such as infrastructure maintenance, urgent repairs, material transport, and responding to incidents related to water, sanitation, public lighting, and bulky waste collection.
The City Council proposed this acquisition due to the impossibility of affording it with its own limited financial and personnel resources.
