The blaze, which spread across a 40-kilometer perimeter, has been brought under control after several days of intense activity. Authorities have confirmed that the situation has significantly improved, allowing residents who were evacuated as a precaution to return.
Identification efforts for the twelve fatalities are ongoing. Relatives of some of the foreign victims have arrived in Spain to assist in the process by providing DNA samples. The Biology department of the Guardia Civil's Criminalistics Service is managing this task and has successfully obtained the genetic profile of all victims.
