The initiative kicks off this Saturday, October 3rd, with the III Amateur Theater Contest "Ciudad de Villanueva". The group Terral Carátula, from Villacarrillo, will open the curtains with the play "Mamá con Niña".
The program continues on Sunday, October 4th, with a circus show at the Teatro Regio, benefiting the Javier Barbero Autism Association. The following day, Monday, October 5th, the Patio de Columnas of the Town Hall will host the presentation of the book "Los ojos de la Piconera", by Jesús Berzosa, marking the opening of the "Villanueva Literaria 2026" campaign.
Throughout October, November, and December, attendees can enjoy a varied offering including exhibitions such as "Paisajes II" by the Instituto de Estudios Jiennenses, the Marcha Rosa organized by the Spanish Association Against Cancer, commemorative concerts for the 25th anniversary of the Agrupación Musical Nuestro Padre Jesús en su Entrada en Jerusalén, and the traditional "Noches de Terror" (Nights of Terror).
The amateur theater contest will feature various companies, and the literary agenda "Villanueva Literaria 2026" will present works by authors such as Mari Cruz Rodríguez and José Antonio Yeste Segarra. Additionally, special events like World Bookshop Day and the commemoration of Constitution Day will be held.
The 2026 Cultural Autumn aims to "make people enjoy and fall in love with culture in Villanueva del Arzobispo", consolidating the town as a cultural hub during these months.
