The III Amateur Theatre Festival City of Villanueva will fill the Teatro Regio in the Jaén town with performances from October 3rd to December 13th. The event will bring together amateur theatre companies from the region, the province, Andalusia, and other parts of Spain.
The program opens this Saturday, October 3rd, with the comedy Mamá, con niña, performed by the group Carátula from Villacarrillo. Throughout October, November, and December, audiences can enjoy various theatrical works and styles.
Other participating companies include Imparables del Condado with La media naranja, El Espejo Parlante from Jaén with Atinados desatinos, and La Barraca de Federico from San Pedro del Pinatar (Murcia) with Mujeres de luna y sangre, based on texts by Federico García Lorca.
The lineup also features Revolú Teatro (Villacarrillo) presenting Why Men?, the Asociación Cultural Nieves López Pastor with Bodas de sangre (Federico García Lorca), La Máscara Teatro (Villacarrillo) with Toc Toc, and Hojas de Papel from Jaén with La sirena varada by Alejandro Casona.
The festival will also include performances by La Glorieta from Castellar with Zapatos Rojos and Alco Teatro presenting Yerma, also by Federico García Lorca. All shows will take place at 8:00 PM at the Teatro Regio.
