The town of Nerja is preparing to host the second edition of the Folk Festival Villa de Nerja this Saturday. The day will kick off at 7:00 PM with a parade through the town center, starting from the ground floor of the Town Hall on calle Carmen.
Later, at 9:00 PM, the Plaza de España will be the stage for performances by various groups. These will include the Choirs and Dances from Granada, Vélez-Málaga, Nerja, and Maro, along with the Fandangos Cortijeros del Río de la Miel and the Panda de Verdiales from El Borge.
This event aims to bring together different expressions of popular music, dance, and traditions, establishing itself as an important occasion for the region's cultural identity.
“"We invite everyone to participate and enjoy something so intrinsically ours, our traditions, our music, and our dances."
The Department of Culture, through this initiative, reaffirms its commitment to the promotion and preservation of folklore and popular traditions. Furthermore, it seeks to create a meeting space for groups from different municipalities and bring this cultural heritage closer to all audiences.
