The province of Málaga is saying goodbye to the heatwave and the yellow alert for high temperatures, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). Following a suffocating episode accompanied by terral wind and dust, thermometers in the Malagueño capital will experience a decrease.
This Sunday is expected to be less hot. After a Saturday that saw highs of up to 38.1 degrees in Vélez-Málaga and 37.7 degrees in Algarrobo and Estepona, temperatures are set to normalize. Aemet does not foresee extreme heat alerts in Málaga from Sunday onwards, when maximums of 33 degrees are expected in the capital.
However, some municipalities like Coín, which have registered high temperatures, will continue to experience highs of up to 38 degrees, albeit without an official extreme heat warning. In contrast, Vélez-Málaga, Algarrobo, and Estepona will record maximums of 31, 30, and 32 degrees respectively this Sunday.
For Sunday, Aemet forecasts completely clear skies in the capital. From Monday onwards, maximum temperatures are expected to hover around 31 degrees.
