Infoca Plan personnel are deployed by land and air to tackle a forest fire in the municipality of Colmenar. The initial operation includes 28 ground firefighters, a fire engine, and a light helicopter. The incorporation of more personnel from the Provincial Firefighters Consortium of Colmenar and Antequera is planned.
This is the second fire declared this Sunday in the province, following the control of another blaze in the Arroyo España area, in Málaga capital, around 2:10 PM.
The country is experiencing a particularly challenging summer regarding forest fires, with fronts still active in Madrid, Ávila, and Toledo, which have led to the evacuation of approximately 90,000 people. In Andalusia, the province of Almería is still recovering from the catastrophe in Los Gallardos, and in Málaga, fires in Árchez, which spread to Cómpeta and Canillas de Albaida, and the one in Benahavís, necessitated preventive evacuations.
