The Spanish National Organization of the Blind (ONCE) has registered a new milestone in the province of Jaén during the 2025 fiscal year, consolidating a decade of continuous growth. The Shared Value Report details records in lottery sales, prizes distributed, jobs created, and social investment.
At the provincial level, ONCE has a total of 754 employees, with 24 new hires in the past year. The sales network in Jaén reached 304 workers, all with disabilities, the highest figure in recent years. The ONCE Social Group positions itself as the third largest employer in Spain, with 59% of its workforce having disabilities and 45% being women.
Revenue from ONCE's gaming product sales in Jaén grew by 1.75% in 2025, generating 43.97 million euros. Of this amount, 24.97 million euros were allocated to prizes for the province's citizens. For every 100 euros earned, 56.8 euros are returned as prizes, 32.1 euros are allocated to salaries and management costs, and 11.1 euros are fully reinvested in social action.
Social investment in Jaén reached 4.07 million euros, funds aimed at promoting education, accessibility, and inclusion for blind people or those with severe visual impairments. ONCE supported 85 students from birth to university and provided 1,801 hours of mediation for people with deafblindness. Additionally, 786 personalized services were provided, along with 121 bibliographic adaptations and 49 assistive technology devices.
The report also highlights the role of volunteering, which processed 1,793 services and 2,779 hours to facilitate the autonomy of 171 affiliated members. The organization affiliated 37 new individuals in Jaén, bringing the total to 1,120 members in the province.
Cristóbal Martínez, ONCE delegate for Andalusia, Ceuta, and Melilla, emphasized that the success is due to public awareness that resources are dedicated to social work and the unity of action within the ONCE Social Group, comparing it to the team spirit of the Spanish national football team.
