The initiative, promoted by the Socialist Municipal Group and defended by councilwoman María del Carmen Angulo, responds to requests from local residents and groups who consider the sporadic interventions carried out to date on this regional road insufficient.
Representatives of neighborhood associations, such as Dimas García from Entre Cantones and Francisco Trapero from Puerta de Martos, attended the plenary session to support the proposal, which had previously been submitted to the Territorial Delegation of Public Works.
The approved motion expresses concern about the road's conservation status, pointing out deficiencies in the surface, verges, sidewalks, and signage, elements that directly affect road safety and traffic conditions.
The A-6050R1 is a strategic connection for urban mobility, linking neighborhoods in the south and northwest of Jaén, and serving as access to the Santa Catalina Castle and the Parador Nacional.
The Junta de Andalucía is urged to prioritize the conservation and improvement of this road, including the renewal of the surface, improvement of signage, ditches, and other necessary elements to ensure safe circulation.
The initiative also demands that the intervention be allocated budgetary provision, include the drafting of the corresponding project, and culminate in the execution of the works, urging the Junta to act with the same commitment as the Spanish Government has shown in other capital infrastructures.
