In recent decades, the ball has become the primary source of pride for the province of Jaén. Faced with a scarcity of political projects and infrastructure to foster prosperity, the people of Jaén have found an inexhaustible wellspring of satisfaction in two of their own.
Jaén's joy, understood as the reason for celebration among its inhabitants, carries two surnames: Rodríguez Herrero. The first belongs to a man who not only defended his region's colors in futsal but also took the reins of a team in the Second Division, leading it to global elite status within three years and turning what was deemed a miracle into a habit.
This athlete, Daniel, has, over a decade, secured three more Spanish Cups, uniting the province's drive for worthy facilities for its team. His success propelled Jaén Paraíso Interior FS to such a high level that institutions were compelled to provide the region with the arena it deserved. Recently, in Cáceres, he has capped off a spectacular career with achievements that transcend the sporting realm.
The second surname, Herrero, linked to Real Jaén's coach, Manuel Herrero, is also fundamental. Despite the club's historical financial difficulties, which relegated it to the fifth division, Manuel Herrero returned to restore seriousness and the region's spirit. After achieving promotion to the Second Division in 2013, his current work places him just 90 minutes away, with a one-goal advantage, from ascending Real Jaén to the former Segunda B, bringing new joy to a loyal fanbase that firmly believes in his capabilities.
