The fire originated around 2:00 PM this Thursday, after the 112 Andalusia emergency service received alerts from several witnesses reporting smoke in the vicinity of the Río Frío Canyons.
Andalusia's Forest Fire Emergency Plan (Infoca) reports that the fire started on a slope from an agricultural area, and the flames have reached a pasture. Forest personnel are intervening to control its spread towards the surrounding vegetation and forest mass.
“"Currently, the following deployed resources are working in the area: two groups of forest firefighters with thirty personnel, two fire engines, and one heavy air unit from the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, along with another semi-heavy unit."
At present, no further details have been released regarding the fire's evolution, its extent, or any potential impact on inhabited areas. Teams continue to work on control and extinction efforts.
