The Teatro Darymelia in Jaén was completely sold out for the performance of Entre tinieblas, a production by the Higher School of Dramatic Art of Jaén (ESADLAE). The play, part of the II Ciclo Sutilezas, is based on the film of the same name by Pedro Almodóvar and was directed by Manuel Sutil.
The contemporary theatre proposal, performed by a group of adult students, tells the story of Yolanda, a singer in crisis who finds refuge in a peculiar convent. The play explores themes such as guilt, faith, and the need for affection through black humor, irreverence, and tenderness.
A notable element of the production was the collaboration with Skenet Producciones, which created an imposing puppet operated simultaneously by three actors, adding a unique visual dimension to the staging.
The II Ciclo Sutilezas, supported by the Municipal Culture Board, is experiencing great success, with almost all its performances sold out. The next scheduled event is on June 21 with the play La vieja escuela.
