The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued warnings for intense heat in these provinces, particularly affecting Almería capital and El Poniente, as well as the Jaén regions of Moreno y Condado, Cazorla y Segura, and the Guadalquivir Valley. The campiñas of Córdoba and Sevilla will also record highs of 38 degrees.
In addition to the high temperatures, heavy rainfall is expected in several areas of Granada and Jaén. The Granada region of Guadix and Baza will be under a yellow alert for intense rain between 2:00 PM and 10:00 PM, with an expected accumulation of 15 liters per square meter in one hour.
In the province of Jaén, the regions of Cazorla y Segura, and Capital y Montes de Jaén will activate the alert for similar accumulated rainfall during the same hours. The rest of the region will experience a drop in minimum temperatures, although maximums will rise in the eastern interior.
Skies will show cloudy intervals and mist on the coast, with the possibility of fog banks. In the afternoon, intense showers and thunderstorms are expected in the central and eastern sierras of Andalusia, which could be accompanied by hail and strong wind gusts.
