The Huelva City Council has launched the tender for the redevelopment of an urban area in the La Orden neighborhood, aiming to transform it into a modern Plaza de la Provincia, with a budget of 904,022.96 euros.

This project seeks to revitalize a currently disused space at the confluence of Zenobia Street and Diego Morón Avenue, covering an area of 3,022.09 square meters. Interested companies have until April 21 to submit their proposals, with an estimated execution period of ten months.
The new square will feature a central tree-lined boulevard starting from Diego Morón Avenue, guiding visitors towards a semicircular northern hemicycle. This area will integrate the rear access of the Virgen de la Cinta Early Childhood Education Center, and a wind rose will be drawn on the pavement, symbolizing the regions of Huelva: Sierra, Andévalo, Costa, Condado, and Cuenca Minera, in addition to the metropolitan area.
To enhance functionality and comfort, a pergola will be installed in the hemicycle to provide shade, thus encouraging daily use of the space. Furthermore, on the upper platform, next to Joaquín Bustamante Street, a children's play area will be created. The project also includes the planting of tree species such as Celtis australis (hackberry) and Cinnamomum camphora (camphor tree), along with other shrub and groundcover species, all with an integrated irrigation system.
Universal accessibility will be a priority, eliminating existing architectural barriers and adding ramps with double handrails. Accessible pedestrian routes will be adequately lit. Regarding urban furniture, existing Huelva model benches will be maintained, and damaged ones will be replaced, incorporating armrests on benches linked to flowerbeds and under the pergola. Water supply, sewage, and public lighting networks will be renewed, and waste bins will be installed throughout the space.
