The main objective of these actions is to optimize building safety, enhance the comfort of spaces for patients and staff, and adapt the facilities to new healthcare requirements.
The most significant interventions are focused on the Vázquez Díaz Hospital, with an investment exceeding 900,000 euros. Key areas such as the Neurology Day Hospital, waiting rooms, and common areas have been renovated, including the replacement of floors, ceilings, lighting, doors (improving accessibility), restrooms, and painting.
At the Mental Health Therapeutic Community, a comprehensive reform is underway, covering rooms, bathrooms, therapy rooms, and common areas. This renovation, which includes updating floors, carpentry, windows, air conditioning, and painting, will conclude in the coming months and aims to significantly improve patient well-being.
Other works at the Vázquez Díaz Hospital include the sectorization of areas and circuit improvements in the Assisted Reproduction Unit to optimize safety, as well as the renovation of floors, carpentry, and painting in the Speech Therapy consultations.
At the Juan Ramón Jiménez Hospital, the investment exceeds 350,000 euros. Air conditioning systems have been updated in the Oncology and Hematology (4.1 and 4.2), Gynecology and Obstetrics (2.3 and 2.4), Pneumology and Infectious Diseases (4.3) Units, and the Hemodialysis Treatment Room. Additionally, painting, floor, ceiling, and lighting work has been carried out in Gynecology and Obstetrics and Hemodialysis to create a more pleasant environment.
Interventions have been made in the special techniques room of the ICU. In Pharmacy, the space will be adapted for a new chemotherapy cabin and a third consultation room for outpatient medication dispensing will be created. In the main hall, a new adapted restroom for ostomy patients is planned.
Furthermore, the roof of the brachytherapy area in the Radiotherapy service has been renovated to improve insulation, and the electrical panel of the air conditioning sub-station has been replaced to enhance safety and energy efficiency. Maintenance workshops have also undergone conservation work.
Finally, at the Virgen de la Cinta Specialties Center, complete waterproofing of the building's roof is planned, an action that will extend over the coming months with a budget of over 150,000 euros, aimed at preventing humidity and protecting the building's structure.
