The incident occurred on the 19th, when the Granada City Council set up a fan zone with giant screens at the Palacio de Congresos to watch the match. At the entrance area, a young man carrying a Republican flag was confronted by a group at a bar on Ribera del Genil street.
According to the National Police, one member of the group, who were mostly dressed in black and displayed "radical symbolism, linked to a violent ultra group," allegedly threatened the victim to hand over the flag. When the young man refused, the group began an assault, resulting in injuries and bruises that required medical attention.
Witnesses queuing for the event intervened, causing the alleged aggressors to cease their actions. A citizen security patrol identified five of the individuals involved at the time.
The police investigation has led to the arrest of the entire group, consisting of seven individuals. They are charged with coercion and aggravated hate crimes. Among those arrested is a minor, for whom the Granada Juvenile Prosecutor's Office has been notified.
The seven detainees were brought before the judicial authority on Wednesday afternoon.
