The Company Committee of AVANZA Metro Granada, comprising CCOO, UGT, and CSIF, has announced the successful turnout for the strike. Union representatives highlighted that management maintained an "entirely unyielding attitude" during negotiations.
According to the unions, the salary proposal from management is "insufficient and fictitious," aiming to eliminate or offset labor rights and improvements that employees have been demanding for years. Furthermore, they noted that worker safety and health were not adequately addressed in the proposals.
“"As of today, the lack of understanding caused by the company's attitude inevitably leads us towards a strike."
The Company Committee expressed its disappointment over the failure to reach an agreement, despite the "willingness to dialogue and responsibility" shown by the workers. They asserted that management continues to hold a rigid stance, preventing progress in negotiations.
Employee representatives emphasized that, more than nine years after the service began, Granada Metro workers remain among the lowest paid in the sector in Andalusia, with salary differences of up to 10,000 euros annually compared to other provinces. Partial strikes will continue throughout the week, with full strikes planned for Friday, May 15, to protest increasing workload and insufficient safety measures.
