The Plaza de Toros in Granada will be the venue for the start of bullfighting activities during the Corpus Fair on June 3rd, at 7:30 PM. The event will feature a bull calf competition with picadors.
The presentation of the event was attended by Antonio Mancilla, Deputy of Contracting, Water, Agrarian Promotion, and Environment; Fernando Navarro, coordinator of the Granada Chapter of the Toro de Lidia Foundation; and Francis Almohalla, Councilor for Citizen Participation and Maintenance of the Granada City Council.
“"The celebration of this bull calf competition is another demonstration of the Diputación's commitment to promoting bullfighting culture and supporting young talents who represent the future of the fiesta."
Mancilla highlighted the collaboration with the Toro de Lidia Foundation, stating that it "is allowing the development of solid projects of great interest to fans, but also to those who are approaching the world of bulls for the first time."
The lineup for the bull calf competition will feature bullfighters Carlos Tirado, Julio Norte, and Iván Rejas. These young bullfighters will face bulls from the Hermanas Angoso Clavijo ranch. This event will serve as the kickoff for the Corpus bullfighting season in Granada, focusing on promoting the new generations of bullfighting.
