The concept of ice cream has evolved from an occasional treat to a more frequent consumption option, thanks to the proposal of an Andalusian company. Their goal is to transform this summer dessert into a food that can be enjoyed daily, without the traditional caloric implications, while maintaining flavor and creaminess.
The initiative, driven by two brothers, sons of a traditional ice cream maker from Huelva, has received a significant boost with 300,000 euros in funding through the Corporación Tecnológica de Andalucía (CTA). This investment is crucial for their growth and to increase the production of these ice creams, which align with the growing demand for healthy foods.
“"To make an ice cream that we can eat every day."
The project originated from the observation that ice cream was not typically a daily food. With this premise, the company has developed artisanal ice creams with low caloric content, high in protein, and without artificial sweeteners. This formulation responds to the trend of consuming products associated with sports, wellness, and functional foods, differentiating itself through the use of natural ingredients and the reduction of fats and sugars.
The recent funding, an Enisa participatory loan, adds to a previous investment round for the same amount. These funds will be allocated to machinery expansion, automation of production processes, and the development of new formats to reach more markets. Currently, the company operates from its facilities in Pilas, Seville, where it expects to multiply its production capacity tenfold, strengthening distribution and its presence in spaces related to sports and healthy living.
Although the company has its roots in Huelva and its operational base in Seville, its expansion strategy includes other Andalusian provinces, such as Granada. In this province, the market for healthy and premium products is booming, with increasing demand in cafes, gyms, and specialized establishments. The brand already has more than 300 points of sale in Spain and an online distribution channel, allowing it to reach consumers throughout Andalusia.
