During Sunday, Granada and its metropolitan area registered a total of nine seismic movements, none exceeding 2 degrees in magnitude. Since the start of this seismic sequence on Saturday, August 15th, 3,606 incidents have been managed and 976 properties have been inspected. Importantly, none of the reviewed buildings were classified as 'black level,' indicating a risk of collapse.
The 112 Andalusia Emergency service announced via social media that 7,184 communications have been received since the seismic activity began. Additionally, psychological support was provided to 283 individuals who required it.
Data from the National Geographic Institute (IGN) indicates the first tremor of the early morning occurred at 00:43, with a magnitude of 1.7 and its epicenter in La Zubia. This was followed by other movements: one at 1:09 (magnitude 1.7, epicenter Granada capital), two in Ogíjares at 2:32 and 3:49 (magnitude 1.8), one at 4:16 (magnitude 1.6, epicenter Armilla), and the last at 5:09 (magnitude 1.7, epicenter Churriana de la Vega).
Furthermore, three additional tremors occurred during the morning. The first took place at 8:52 in La Zubia (magnitude 1.6), followed by two in Ogíjares at 9:19 and 9:36, with magnitudes of 2 and 1.9, respectively.
This notable decrease in the number of registered earthquakes follows four consecutive days of activity. Although tremors have continued, their magnitude and intensity have significantly lessened. For instance, throughout Friday, no tremor exceeded 2.5 degrees in magnitude.
